I found this little gem while searching for an educational stocking stuffer for my teen. I had never heard of this game but I am so glad I took a chance on it! My son and I just played it for the first time tonight and we both loved it!

ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: ♥♥♥_ _ If you have read any of my other game reviews, you know I truly appreciate packaging that is neat and tidy. And, even if it appears neat and tidy in the beginning, it must be able to stand the test of time. Unfortunately, this game does not score well in that area. The cards are nice and sturdy, not to mention interesting to look at, but the plastic insert that holds the cards is lacking. And, the cardboard sleeve that you slide the plastic insert into is flimsy and hard to open. And, once you get it open, it’s hard to close in such a way that it’s secure. All in all, it will surely tear in time which just about guarantees cards will be lost. Putting it all into a plastic baggie or a plastic index card holder would help, but in terms of the way I prefer games to be packaged, this one scores below average. ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT SCORE: 3/5 ♥♥♥_ _

FUN FACTOR: ♥♥♥♥♥ I’m surprised that such a simple spelling game could be so fun, but Quidder is just that: SO FUN! I think the fact that players can’t play their cards until they can play ALL of their cards is what makes it extra interesting. Plus, with every round, a player’s hand increases in size which makes each round more challenging…and fun! FUN FACTOR SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ When I first read that two-letter words were acceptable, I was a bit worried that it would be too easy for my not-a-natural-speller son to get by with easy words. But, that was not the case at all. Yes, you can play two-letter words, but if you want any shot at being the first to go out, you’ll need to reach deeper into your spelling skills than me/by/am. However, the fact that two-letter words are acceptable opens up the game to play with a variety of levels. It would even be feasible to add an extra rule that an older player cannot play two-letter words while the younger players can. EDUCATIONAL LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

CLARITY LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ The directions are simple, clear and concise with little room for confusion. And, despite the fact that the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, I do like the fact that the directions fold neatly into the plastic insert that holds the cards. CLARITY LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

OVERALL SCORE: ♥♥♥♥_ Quiddler is a great option for a quick educational review game that can be played when siblings are bored or while the whole family waits for dinner to be delivered. It’s quick, simple, fun, and educational. OVERALL SCORE: 90% ♥♥♥♥_
