ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: ♥♥♥ I wish all card games were packaged like Professor Noggin games in their sturdy, little boxes. The simplicity also makes maintaining the game easy. All you need to keep track of is one die, 30 game cards, and one instruction card. The game cards are very colorful, highly durable, and do not depend on one another {meaning, if you lose one or three, it does not impact gameplay.} Best yet, all of Noggins’ games stack on top of one another neatly and securely! ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥

FUN FACTOR: ♥♥♥♥__ Like with all of Professor Noggin games, we found Professor Noggin Life in the Ocean to be a fun way to kill a few minutes while reviewing some interesting ocean facts. The turns are fast and simple. My teenager and I even learned a few new facts! {Did you know that a marlin can swim as fast as a cheetah can run?!?} FUN FACTOR SCORE: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥__

EDUCATIONAL VALUE: ♥♥ The game touches on a few different ocean topics including oceans, coral, sea mammals, sharks, fish, crustaceans and pollution. mations, and more. While this game does a godo job of covering several aspects of “life in the ocean,” it’s important to recognize that this game is not designed to teach your kids the entirety of the subject. But, considering what it is trying to do, it does a good job! Another benefit of playing any of Noggin’s games is that there are always two levels of play, Student or Scholar, which can be played simultaneously so it allows kids of several ages/skills to play together. EDUCATIONAL VALUE SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥

CLARITY LEVEL: ♥♥ The game is very simple to play and the instructions reflect that perfectly. They are simple, clear and succinct with little/no room for confusion. CLARITY LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥

OVERALL SCORE: ♥♥♥__ If you have been studying the ocean life or want to find a fun way to introduce a new unit on the subject, this is a quick and inexpensive way to do so. We enjoy many of Professor Noggin’s games as a fun piece of our school day and Professor Noggin Life in the Ocean has been a fun addition. It’s quick, fun and educational. And, if, like me, you don’t recall much from your own science classes {way back when,} no worries. Just use the cards as learning tools instead and learn while you play. You’ll probably lose to your kids, but that’s okay. When everybody learns, everybody wins! OVERALL SCORE: 95% ♥♥♥__
