I purchased Owl Solve That along with several other great educational games from SimplyFun. If you are not familiar with SimplyFun, they are an online direct-sales company with a mission to “help children at every skill level develop their unique gifts,” which they try to accomplish through the creation of educational games.
In addition to reviewing the

HOW TO WIN: Be the first to score 25 points by solving math problems with 2-5 numbers.
CLARITY LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ The game includes a detailed instruction book with diagrams and easy-to-follow steps. We were able to read through it one time and then play without issue. While we played, we had to reference the instruction book only one time. CLARITY LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥
FUN FACTOR: ♥♥♥♥_ As mentioned in my review of Proof, I do not like mental math but consider it vital to math success so I continue to buy games that provide practice in the area. Owl Solve That offers the opportunity to practice mental math in a fun and creative way with its owl theme, though older kids might find the “owly” items gimmicky and unnecessary. It definitely has the feel of more of a board game than many other math games but I’m not sure you’ll be able to sell it as a key-feature for a fun youth event. FUN FACTOR SCORE: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥_
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ Though players can write down their work if they want, Owl Solve That was designed as a way to practice mental math AND to do it quickly. If you have kids who need to be challenged in this area, Owl Solve That is a great choice because it includes three-digit numbers to solve, unlike Adsumudi. And the fact that each player works to solve different problems at the same time means that everybody is always thinking! Additionally, the instructions ask you to “think outside the box” which is always a bonus and resulted in my son creating algebraic equations instead of simple math sentences {like me.} Lastly, because the more number cards you use in your equation, the more points you get, kids can challenge themselves to find bigger, more complicated equations. EDUCATIONAL LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥
ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: ♥♥♥♥♥ From the sturdy, colorful box to the thick fold-out game board, Owl Solve That is on par with every SimplyFun game I have handled in terms of quality. The box includes one fold-out game board, four small but cute score boards, four owl markers, four scoring pieces, 64 small number cards and 40 larger solution cards. And, everything is housed neatly and securely in a nice, strong box. ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥
OVERALL SCORE: ♥♥♥♥♥ Though I do not usually enjoy practicing my mental math skills, Owl Solve That made it fun enough that my son and I both agree we would gladly play again. OVERALL SCORE: 95% ♥♥♥♥♥
