I bought this game with the hopes of adding something new to our Shark Week line-up that would be both fun and educational. Turns out, that’s EXACTLY what Sharkopoly is: FUN and EDUCATIONAL! Read the review below.

Game Review: SHARKOPOLY

ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: ♥♥♥♥♥ Sharkopoly comes in a classic cardboard game box and includes a very sturdy foldable game board, metal shark tokens, colorful paper money, two dice and a variety of different cards. Everything is very well constructed and easy to organize with a plastic dividing insert. ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

FUN FACTOR: ♥♥♥♥♥ As is probably obvious with the “opoly” title, Sharkopoly is a twist of the classic Monopoly game but based on a shark theme. So, if your family enjoys this style of game, they’re sure to love Sharkopoly! The Nosedive & Surface cards add an extra wave of fun with random chances of opportunities to make and lose additional money. And the money placed in the center Feeding Frenzy “pot” creates a fun way to level the playing field during the game. Plus, learning about sharks as you play is sure to be entertaining! FUN FACTOR SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

EDUCATIONAL VALUE: ♥♥♥♥__ If you have animal-lovers in your crew, they’re sure to enjoy the interesting facts learned while playing this game {Did you know that the Whale Shark is the largest fish on the planet?} But, it’s not JUST shark facts that give this game some educational value. Kids, of course, need to read while they play, but they also have to strategize their way through playing the game while counting money, paying attention, learning about property purchases and more. EDUCATIONAL VALUE SCORE: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥__

CLARITY LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ The directions are clear and concise. The shark twists are easy to follow and instead of adding confusion {as some themed games do,} they add to the fun factor and educational value. CLARITY LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

OVERALL SCORE: ♥♥♥♥__ If you have been studying sharks or just have a house filled with shark lovers, this is a great way to spend an afternoon as a family. It would also serve as a perfect filler for siblings to practice their cooperation skills while doing something educational at the same time. OVERALL SCORE: 95% ♥♥♥♥_
