EDUCATIONAL VALUE: ♥♥♥♥♥ The entire game revolves around nothing but facts related to birds so the educational value really depends on how much your students enjoy or need to work on that topic. In our home, with a son who wants to eventually get a Ph.D. in Zoology, we value anything that adds to his knowledge on animals. Your family may not feel the same way, but with the huge variety of topics that Professor Noggin covers, there is likely a topic that your family would appreciate. EDUCATIONAL VALUE SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥

FUN FACTOR: ♥♥♥♥__ Professor Noggin Birds of North America is a fun and fast way to work on bird facts. Turns are fast and simple. And you can modify it to make it enjoyable for multiple ages/skill levels by selecting Student, Scholar or a mixed version. It’s not laugh-out-loud kind of fun so we only scored it 4/5, but might be a welcome change from reading a book and should make a nice addition to your arsenal of learning activities. FACTOR SCORE: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥__

ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT: ♥♥♥♥♥ Like all of Professor Noggin’s games, this one comes in a sturdy, little box that contains one die, 30 game cards and one instruction card. The cards are thick and strong. The components are minimal and very easy to keep organized. And the box stacks very nicely with the others in the series! ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENT SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

CLARITY LEVEL: ♥♥♥♥♥ The instructions are very simple and explain the game succinctly. There is very little room to debate a correct answer or argue whether the rules were followed. And the instructions are the same across the entire series which makes it especially convenient. CLARITY LEVEL SCORE: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥

OVERALL SCORE: ♥♥♥♥__ We have enjoyed several of Professor Noggin’s games as a fun way to review science and history facts and this Birds of North America was no exception. It was quick, fun and educational! And, if, like me, you don’t recall much from your own science classes {way back when,} no worries. Just use the cards as learning tools instead and learn while you play. You’ll probably lose to your kids, but that’s okay. Everybody wins when everybody learns! OVERALL SCORE: 95% ♥♥♥♥_
