History of Thanksgiving Reading and Writing Pack

This History of Thanksgiving Reading and Writing Pack  was designed to teach your students about the important historical events and people surrounding the first Thanksgiving.

All Informational Text Passages and Writing Prompts are designed around the following ten-step sequence:

1. The Pilgrims left England.

2. The Pilgrims sailed on the Mayflower.

3. The Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.

4. The Pilgrim men signed the Mayflower Contract.

5. The Pilgrims built Plymouth Colony.

6. The Pilgrims struggled through winter.

7. Squanto helped the Pilgrims.

8. The Pilgrims were thankful.

9. The Pilgrims invited the Native Americans.

10. They all celebrated with a feast.

Each Informational Text Passage comes in two levels and  includes comprehension questions.

There is also a corresponding Writing Prompt for each reading passage with two different types of lined paper choices.
